Pressing Dawn

By Rachael Moore and Marisa Delvaille

On a slowly turning planet, a small group of nomads live in a land of endless morning, the only hospitable environment surrounded by extremes.

Her people's constant travels through endless plains weigh heavily on Simone, a young woman trying to find her place amongst her tribe.

The tedium of Simone's world comes to an abrupt end when her tribe runs into a large mountain range that poses to upset the delicate balance of the planet's migratory ecology.

Simone explores the mountains only to find a group of people living deep within the caverns of the mountains. Amongst them, a bright young man named Amboy.

The mountain dwellers have their own problems resulting from the approaching sun. Their base is set up for the decades-long frozen night and their daytime life-support systems are nonfunctioning and of a long forgotten technology.

Being the only one remotely familiar with the base's technology, the mountain dwellers rely solely on Amboy to fix their problems, which irks him to no end.

To complicate matters, as the resources outside wear thin, Simone's tribe forcibly takes over the mountain base and hold the natives hostage.

Together, Simone and Amboy must find a way across the mountains, fix the cavern's failing infrastructure, and keep their people from killing each other. And all before sunrise.

Pressing Dawn is a sci-fi/adventure comic with shoujo overtones and a strong female lead. Because of this, I think it would be ideal for Girlamatic.

Having previously published "Unicorn Campaign" on Girlamatic, I enjoy the camaraderie of the community and the talent contained therein.

I am familiar with the update schedule and events. Though much longer than "Unicorn Campaign", since "Pressing Dawn" is plotted through the end, I am confident that I can finish what I start.

New to "Pressing Dawn" is my talanted colorist, Marisa Delvaille, who will enable the comic to be in brilliant color and still update weekly.
